FLIR’s Ocean Scout Pro II

Raymarine Axiom 2

FLIR’s Ocean Scout Pro II is a marine thermal monocular made to help keep people safe on the water. It gives both professional and recreational boaters better awareness, thanks to its sharp thermal resolution, tough IP67-rated build, and easy-to-use controls. These features make it much easier to navigate at night and find someone who has fallen overboard.

With its high-resolution sensor and 32-degree field-of-view lens, boaters can see hazards and channel markers from as far as one-third of a mile away. The device is built to handle tough marine conditions. It resists saltwater spray and can withstand drops of up to 6 feet.

The Ocean Scout Pro II offers white-hot, black-hot, heat, and sepia viewing modes. In the heat mode, the warmest 10 percent of the scene appears in red. Heat and sepia modes are especially helpful for reducing eye strain and finding people in the water.

It has 16 GB of internal storage for photos and videos. You can also stream the thermal feed wirelessly to tablets or smartphones, so everyone on board can see it using the app.

Useful for fishing! Find buoys, notice surface changes from baitfish, spot weed lines, and see temperature changes from upwellings, where cold or warm water rises to the surface.

The built-in lithium battery lasts up to six hours on a single charge. You can charge it via a waterproof USB-C port and an external power bank, or use the optional charging station to store and charge the camera, keeping it always ready to use.

An essential safety asset.
