DFF3D Multi-Beam Sonar

L&L Electronics, Raymarine RVM-1600

Furuno's DFF3D Multi-Beam Sonar System offers a range of advantages over conventional systems. With 100% seafloor coverage, the system provides increased detail and accuracy of seafloor mapping. It also allows mapping inaccessible areas, like under jetties, near breakwaters, or adjacent retaining walls.

The DFF3D turns a NavNet TZtouch Series MFD into a multi-beam sonar that can see 120° port to starboard, providing real-time seabed conditions and fish school movements. The system transmits frequency at a lower 165 kHZ, which enables the beams to penetrate deeper water, providing clear and smooth wide-angle views of what's happening in real time beneath your boat.

Multi-beam sonar technology is not just for fishing enthusiasts. It is perfect for nautical charting, locating underwater hazards, and object identification. With our DFF3D installations, we have helped research vessels for the State of Connecticut's John Dempsey and the University of Vermont's Marcelle Melosira.
